Working with our safeguarding partners
At Heritage High School, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for all our scholars. As part of this commitment, we work closely with a range of safeguarding partners to ensure that children and young people are protected from harm and receive the support they need.
Our safeguarding partners include local authorities, health services, police, social care teams, and specialist agencies. Through regular communication, and collaborative planning, we ensure that concerns are addressed swiftly and appropriately. We follow national and local safeguarding guidance and actively contribute to multi-agency strategies designed to promote the welfare of children.
As a Designated Safeguarding Lead, Mr S Richardson leads our safeguarding work, ensuring that all staff are trained, vigilant, and confident in identifying and responding to safeguarding concerns. We value the expertise and support of our partners and recognise that safeguarding is a shared responsibility.
Together, we strive to build a culture of trust, transparency, and proactive intervention—so that every child feels safe, valued, and empowered to thrive.

Heritage High School recognises and committed to its responsibility to safeguard the welfare of its students and ensures that relevant and effective safeguarding practices exist and are actively promoted within the School.
Where concerns are raised about students’ safety or well-being, we will do our best to help and support them, but there might be situations where we may need to pass these concerns onto the local Children’s Services Department and appropriate external agencies for consideration and support.
We are all governed by the DFE document: Keeping children safe in education – Statutory guidance for schools and colleges. This document contains information on what schools and colleges should do and sets out the legal duties with which schools and colleges must comply in order to keep children safe. All of our staff have annual training and regular updates during the school year on safeguarding.
If you are concerned about the safeguarding of any students within the school you should report this without delay to a member of our safeguarding team.
