Film Studies
The Film Studies curriculum at Heritage High School is diverse and challenging. It provides the opportunity for students to build their cultural capital through an appreciation and knowledge of film. The curriculum teaches students the technical aspects of film form, how aesthetics create meaning, and how films represent other cultures and contexts. It also teaches students the history of film and its relation to history – all to challenge and deepen their understanding of film. Throughout KS4, students will study a variety of films, ranging from Rebel Without a Cause to Skyfall to foreign language films such as the South African Tsotsi.
