Throughout the duration of term 5 students from years 7-10 took part in athletics during their PE lessons. Students worked incredibly hard to achieve personal bests and even break records. This year we had a huge amount of success in breaking records, in which some had not been broken since 2016.
Well done to the following students:
Rebecca, Year 10: has been incredibly successful in sport this year, including winning a cup final for Chesterfield FC. Rebecca has also broke 3 school records this academic year, one being the 100m sprint completing this in 13.61 seconds, secondly the 800m (2.24 minutes).
Lewis, Year 9: Lewis was awarded sports personality of the year last year during our achievement assemblies by his PE teachers for his excellent application to PE and sport. Deservingly, this year Lewis has broken a school record, achieving 11.25m, in shot put which has not been broken since 2008.
Sophie, Year 8: broke the record for long jump, with the score of 4.30m. Sophie was also the highest scoring female in year 8 in the high jump and was very close to breaking the record for this too.
Laurana, Year 7: took the year 7 girls long jump record Laurana, jumped 4m. This is an outstanding achievement in the first year competing in athletics at Heritage High School.
Jake, Year 7: who threw 12.3m in his shot-put lesson. Jake has also recently been given the role of captain for the year 7 boys cricket team. Cricket training is open to all year groups on Mondays 3pm-4pm.
