On Saturday 10th June a number of Heritage High School students participated in the Derbyshire Schools Athletics Championships.

Despite the scorching conditions the students did extremely well and gave their all to compete to the best of their ability, to compete against a strong field of athletes. Deservingly Heritage High School came away from the event with 3 gold medals and 1 silver.

A gold medal was won by Katie, a year 10 GCSE PE student who competed in the 1500m, Katie ran the 1500m in an outstanding 5.14 minutes, which also breaks a school record set in 2017. Well done, Katie!

Rebecca, also a year 10 PE GCSE Student was the winner of the silver medal in the 200m, Rebecca has also broken 3 school records this year during our athletics block in the long jump, 200m and 800m.

Heritage High School would also like to extend their thanks to all parent(s) and Carer(s), as well as friends and family who supported the event both with travel and even volunteering to help with the event itself.
