Today, scholars, staff, governors, families, and invited guests gathered together for our annual whole school Remembrance Service, taking time to reflect, remember, and honour those who have given their lives in service to our country.
The service provided a meaningful opportunity for our entire school community to come together in an atmosphere of respect and reflection. Staff and scholars assembled as one, observing moments of remembrance and paying tribute to the sacrifices made by past and present members of the Armed Forces.
We were honoured to welcome Reverend Bryony Taylor, who led the service with compassion and dignity. Her thoughtful words encouraged everyone to reflect on the importance of remembrance, peace, and community.
A special thank you also goes to Stephen Westwood of the Salvation Army, who performed both the Last Post and Reveille. His moving tribute provided a poignant and memorable moment during the service, helping us all to pause and reflect on the significance of the occasion.
We were delighted to be joined by governors, family members, and members of the wider community, whose presence helped make the service even more special.
The conduct of our scholars throughout the event was exemplary. They demonstrated incredible maturity, respect, and understanding of the importance of remembrance. Their silence during key moments of the service and their participation throughout were a credit to themselves, their families, and the school.
As a school, we are proud to continue this important tradition and to provide opportunities for our young people to learn about and reflect on the sacrifices made by others. Today’s service was a powerful reminder of the strength of our school community and the importance of remembering those who served.
Lest We Forget.
