On Friday 7th July, an astounding 72 Heritage students took part in the 2023 District Athletics Championships, held at Mount St Mary’s. Deservingly our students took first place, scoring 304 points overall.
Each student that took part performed incredibly, showing determination, passion and team spirit, this was clear not only on the track or field when students where competing, but also when they were supporting one another on the side lines. In total we received 50 gold medals, 32 silver medals and 12 bronze medals. An incredible achievement.
In addition to the days wins, 5 individual students also broke District records, some of which have not been broken since 2015/16. Katie (1500m record), Rebecca (long jump record), Kameron (800m record), Jake (800m record), and Jack (javelin record). Well done to all our Heritage athletes. Also, a special mention to Isla who assisted Miss Hockley all day on the shot-put event.
